The service manager suggests I buy out my lease and just sell it to someone else. States they have driven the vehicle for a mere 58 miles over the last several weeks. The dealership has been unable to find the problem. I was called on Augthat the vehicle was ready for pick up and that they were unable to duplicate the problem. Battery Difficult To Install Battery, Professional Installation Recommended CCA: 730 CA: 900 RC: 120 Battery Located In The Engine Compartment Under Junction Block. I took it back to the dealership on July 6th after the second time it stopped dead in the roadway. Super Start Extreme Battery Group Size 48 H6 - 48EXT. At that time I was advised by the service department that mine was the third vehicle in the last week with the same complaint. My vehicle was in the dealership from Jthe first time the engine stopped while driving. I am way under on my miles (2600) and has been well maintained by me with zero damage anywhere. Going back to the dealer for the 5th time tomorrow. The radio doesnt work, Bluetooth doesnt work, back doors dont open from the inside even though they are unlocked. If your radio doesn't have a car radio code for. The 2015 Equinox I lease has been terrible. While a dead battery, or a jump start, can result in a car radio that doesn't work, it could also be a strange coincidence. If the radio has both power and ground, then it probably has an internal fault. I am terrified for my safety, but also for my two year old grandson, family, friends and anyone else who could be involved in an accident if this happens again. Check the relevant fuses and fusible links before you condemn the radio. This could be deadly if I am on a busy road or freeway. I was able to restart the vehicle both times. I lost all power steering, lights, radio etc. On two (2) separate occasions my vehicle has stopped dead in the roadway while driving. Backup camera sometimes stays on while driving down the road, the driver side rear door won't unlock all the time. I didnt know until a while later there was a recall. Had my three kids with me and had to put the window down to try to see how I could pull over. Heavy storm and they just all of a sudden stopped. There are no warnings, expensive to keep buying oil and antifreeze-risk of engine blowing, breaking down-god forbid I have my children in the vehicle with me. The autozone put antifreeze in to the level it should be and the next day I was almost empty again. This was the only issue they could locate. October 2023, check engine light came on-took it to get checked and was told I was out of antifreeze. Less than 200 miles driven during this time. I also added some antifreeze since I was there and it needed just a little. After arriving at work I checked under the hood and noticed there was no oil on the stick. Had an oil change in June 2023 and in August (not may miles driven in that time frame), while driving I noticed the vehicle started to jerk. Always had regular/up-to-date oil changes and took care of the vehicle. So what's up with the safety glasses? There is a small possibility of a battery exploding during the charging process if you don't connect the cables properly (causing a spark) and there is a bunch of hydrogen gas around the battery (car batteries emit hydrogen gas when they discharge) - this is much more of an issue with cars that haven't been driven for a long time than if you drive your Equinox regularly and simply forgot to turn your lights off.Excessive oil consumption after 87,000 miles. Once you are finished reviving a dead car battery in your Equinox, make sure you drive it for at least 5 minutes before turning it off so your battery isn't dead the next time. Be sure to disconnect the negative cable (black cable) from the ground on the dead car, then disconnect the negative cable from the ground on the donor battery, then disconnect the positive (red cable) from the donor battery and finally disconnect the positive cable from the dead car. When you finish jumpstarting the dead battery car, which battery terminal to disconnect first is important. Cheap jumper cables have very thin wire such as 8 or 10 gauge), which increases how long it will take to charge the battery with jumper cables in your Equinox. It is important to use the best jumper cables you can buy as they have thicker gauge (0, 2 or 4 gauge) wire and will impact how long to charge car battery with jumper cables (your Equinox will charge faster with thicker cables). Assuming that you have a pair of jumper cables, a pair of safety glasses and a friend to give you a jumpstart, the video above will show you where to connect the cables (and in what order!) for your Equinox. Check to see if you left your headlights or an interior light on and turn the switch off. If you get into your Equinox, turn the key, and your car doesn't start (you may hear nothing or a clicking sound from the engine bay), you have a dead battery and need a jump-start. This video shows you how to use jumper cables to jump start a dead battery in your 2013 Chevrolet Equinox.
